PhotoHunt : Furry

PHOTOHUNTER

I have a lot of “furry” dog photos but thought this one would be “cuter” for this week’s theme.  I mean, how often do you see a monkey dressed up like this? How often do you see one dressed at all?

This is a two-year old orangutan living in a small zoo, which my eldest daughter visited during their preschool field trip last Friday. She actually had a photo taken with this orangutan where they were sitting side by side, with the orangutan’s left arm casually draped across her shoulders.  A lot of visitors wanted to have a photo taken with this monkey.

And oh, this orangutan has a name… Nicole!  What a coincidence, my youngest daughter is named Nicole!  Hahaha.

PhotoHunt : Chipped

PHOTOHUNTER

The four monkeys — oops! I mean three 🙂 — is made of wood chipped and carved… producing this figure displayed at the entrance of a mini zoo.

PhotoHunt : Blue

PHOTOHUNTER

Another photo taken from one of my favorite beaches. Boracay. This was taken in 2005 by my sister when the whole family went there for a summer vacation.

This is an unedited sunset photo… Everything looks so blue – the sky and the waters. The whole ambiance just gives me a feeling of calmness. I guess it is true as people commonly put it, blue is a color that represents calmness…

PhotoHunt : Scary

PHOTOHUNTER

This is a huge statue or figure of an ape holding out its hand in a mini zoo in Tagaytay. Sort of like King Kong. It really isn’t that scary when you look at it at daytime. The size may just intimidate some people especially kids such as mine.

However, while the sun was setting, I decided to take a snapshot of this huge figure… and the photo of it came out quite spooky with the eyes, teeth and hand glowing against his pitch-dark body at a dusky hour of the day…

Family Doodle of a 4-Year Old”

This my eldest daughter’s doodle of our family when she was 4 years old. She loves to doodle, draw and paint. See, there’s her younger sister on the leftmost, then herself holding her “dream” dog, our house supposedly, Dad and Mom.  Hmmm, Mom looks tall because of the hair… 🙂

I love to keep my kids’ drawings. It always brightens me up when I look back at them.

PhotoHunt : Lazy

PHOTOHUNTER

Are cats lazy? Well, more power to them if they are.”

“Just a thought. Every morning (except on rainy days), I go out to our garden and look at the cats that sluggishly sleep and sit on our garden set.

One morning, I woke up and was too lazy to go jumping up and down the bed and calling out for Dad, Mom and my older sister to wake up, which is what I usually do. I serve as their alarm clock. Normally upon accomplishing that task, I go out to bask under the morning sunshine and see the cats.

Today was different. I felt like lying down, keeping quiet and just hugging my ball. Mom and Kai was trying to cajole me to get up and play. Their efforts were unsuccessful.

Well, not for long though. After about twenty minutes, I felt energized and was up and about… back to my usual self!”

PhotoHunt : Sad

PHOTOHUNTER

Better by far you should forget and smile
than that you should remember and be sad.”
– Christina G. Rossetti

This is my eldest daughter trying to emote a sad look on her face while we were eating out and playing around with the camera. I love to take pictures of my family, friends and our gimmiks… which means we are all normally having fun. So this is probably the “saddest?” image I can find after rummaging through our photos. This one was really a photo hunt!

PhotoHunt : View

My entry for this week is late as we were out during the weekend. Better late than never.

“Unfortunately, our senses are limited, therefore our view of the world is limited. This is not a problem unless we start believing that what we perceive is all there is to be perceived. It is not.” – Peter McWilliams

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this week’s theme was how we all differ in our views about life and the world around us. So I wanted to share the photo and message above. Our perspective on things is often limited to our learnings and experiences, and often it is just part and parcel of a bigger picture. It is not a complete and clear image of what life really is about.

Photo taken at Boracay, 2005. The effect was a result of some moisture that built up on the lens due to the airconditioning of our room.

PhotoHunt : Road

PHOTOHUNTER

Flashback. Eight years ago. These photos bring memories to the days when I used to travel a lot.

The first photo shows a very empty road (except for that one person standing) leading to the some side stairs going to the actual stairway in the Great Wall of China. Or at least that is how I remember it. I recall we took a different path so we could climb the Great Wall. Oh boy, was it really some climb! I didn’t even make it to the peak or last tower. Some of my friends did, and it took them very long. I didn’t even manage to make it halfway as my thighs started to get cramps already. I found it hard to go up since the steps are uneven and some quite steep.

The second one shows the climb on the Great Wall. Far off in the distance, the photo shows some mountain roads leading to I don’t know where. 😀

Being here makes you understand why this is considered as one of the seven wonders of the world. The place and the story behind it is truly amazing! And I’m glad I had the chance to visit…
